13 settembre 2012 – Cappuccini’s Catacombs in Palermo are one of the most famous historical attractives of Sicily, thanks to the mummy of a baby,Rosalia Lombardo, born in 1918 and died of pneumonia on December 6, in 1920. To preserve her body, Alfredo Salafia (commissioned by Rosalia’s father, General Lombardo), a noted embalmer, approach the metod of embalming: thanks to his method, the body was well preserved.
Today, we want to show you again the letter of Rosalia’s sister, gave us from Rosanna La Ferla, niece of Rosalia Lombardo, also diffused on Facebook, relating the National Geographic’s case.
“Dear Sirs, my name is Rosalia Lombardo and i was born in Gaeta on September 15 1925. I’m sister of Rosalia Lombardo, the famous mummy in Cappuccini Catacombs, in Palermo. I want to show you something that disturb me as sister of Rosalia“.
“Every day i see on tv many broadcasts speaking of my sister, publicize that with fake news, using pictures of my parents and my daughter Rosanna La Ferla without permission”.“Unfortunately, i notice that my little sister, in good condition on 2007, looks now different, with strange color of skin and hair and the eyes nearly opened. Do you want to know who made this? I know it, but, when i moved to prove this, with the help of my lawyer, i was ignored and threatened, and invited to be silent!”.
“But, because of my old age (86), my daughter Rosanna and i not fear anyone, and we want to tell the whole truth”.
“I send this letter to all of you because the eco of my pain can open a gate to the possibility that my sister can return the beautiful and admired creature all over the world, and not a victim of body experiments tha compromised her body and gave notoriety who claim the secret of her “eternal sleep”.
“What am i asking is to listen to me and my daughter, only for respect of my family and little Rosalia. At your disposal”.
This is a clear helping request, and on BlogSicilia Rosanna says: “My grandparents decided to mummificated Rosalia because of the great pain. Before the Eurac filmed that documentary, my aunt was in perfect conditions, but, after the x-rays, she looks changed, ruined! Ask people of Palermo, if you do not believe me…”
